Dubwath Silver Meadows is a traditional wetland site located near the west end of Bassenthwaite Lake, in the northern Lake District. Maintained by volunteers, it is a peaceful area with a variety of birds, butterflies and rare plants that call it home. It's also a fully accessible walk suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The walks consist of stone paths and recycled board walks where you can walk in a loop through a variety of different bogs and heaths.

The site is free for visitors all year round. It is fully accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and trampers. Due to deer and ground nesting birds in the area, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Dubwath Silver Meadows supports an amazing variety of plant communities and habitats that range from open wetland to wet woodland and from open grassland to dry woodland. Roe deer are regularly seen in the reserve, alongside sightings of badgers, bats, red squirrels, voles and mice.

They have regular events and nature walks so keep an eye on their website for events coming up. And if you enjoy your visit, why not consider becoming a friend for £5 a year and help with the upkeep.
