Visit Keswick guest booking and data terms
Version 2026-10-27
Booking-specific price, payment and cancellation terms shown at checkout form part of your agreement. These booking terms govern this checkout where they differ from Selfe's general website terms. The booking privacy notice explains how booking information is used and retained.
Booking and payment
Visit Keswick helps you find participating businesses. The business named at checkout (the Provider) supplies the accommodation, activity or other booked service and is your contractual supplier. Selfe provides the account, booking and payment technology. We identify the Provider, full price, what is due now or later, and its relevant cancellation and service terms before you confirm.
We check the option again before confirmation. If its price, availability or material terms change, you must review a new offer. A booking is confirmed only when the Provider's system confirms it and your account shows a booking reference. If the result is still being checked, check its status before attempting another booking or payment.
You may make a booking yourself or use an agent that you have authorised through a Selfe-supported method. Before confirming an agent booking, Selfe checks the authority presented for that purchase and records the offer, accepted terms, agent identifier where supplied and booking outcome. An agent request without sufficient authority does not confirm a booking or permit an unstated payment. The Provider supplies the booked service on the same terms whether you or your authorised agent completed the checkout.
Where you pay in the Visit Keswick checkout, Selfe arranges payment on the Provider's behalf through Stripe. Paying Selfe in that authorised checkout satisfies your obligation to pay the Provider for the amount paid. The Provider remains responsible for delivering the service. The displayed total includes the platform booking fee, part of which Selfe pays to Visit Keswick for its channel service; there is no separate Visit Keswick booking charge or undisclosed amount added afterwards. A saved card does not authorise an unstated future payment. The checkout identifies any agreed deposit, balance or later approval.
Where the Provider's booking system can confirm a reservation without taking payment at its own checkout, Selfe collects your payment through Stripe and records it in that system, or the Provider marks the reservation paid after Selfe confirms payment. This checkout is offered only for booking systems that support that arrangement.
Your booking-specific cancellation rules govern changes and refunds. Check deadlines, penalties and non-refundable amounts before confirming. Where those rules give you a full refund, you receive the full amount you paid, including booking fees. If the Provider gives you a partial refund because it cancels or cannot supply part of the booked service, we also refund the same proportion of the platform booking fee. A partial refund after your late cancellation does not return a booking fee that your accepted cancellation terms say is retained. Stripe may keep the original card-processing fee, but it is not deducted from your refund. A request is not a confirmed cancellation until the Provider's booking outcome is known. Your account shows the payment and refund status; a bank may take additional time to return an issued refund. Use the support route in your booking account or email support@selfe.ai if you need help or the status is unclear.
Selfe handles account access, checkout, payment-record and platform problems. The Provider handles arrival, the booked service, on-site issues and complaints about what it supplied. We will direct a complaint to the right party and cooperate where it involves both the booking record and the service. On-site extras, damage deposits and no-show charges are between you and the Provider unless they are shown in a separate accepted Selfe offer with payment authority.
Account and booking messages
A Selfe account underlies the guest booking account shown on Visit Keswick. It lets you see and manage your bookings. Selfe may recognise the same identity if you choose to use another curator site powered by Selfe, but a Provider or curator sees only the information it is authorised to use. We give the Provider your real booking contact details, including your email address and telephone number where supplied, so it can contact you directly about your stay or service outside Selfe. For a compatible booking system, we may enter your Selfe booking email address as its primary booking email to route operational messages through your account; your real contact details are also given to the Provider in its booking record. We may send messages needed to verify your account, confirm or change a booking, request a payment you have agreed to consider, or handle a cancellation or support question. Booking messages between you and the Provider may pass through a Selfe relay and appear in your account. Replies sent outside that relay may not appear there.
Neither Selfe nor the Provider uses your booking details for its own marketing unless you separately opt in to marketing from that named party. The choice for Selfe and the choice for the Provider are separate; opting in to one does not opt you in to the other or to KTA. Booking and service messages do not require marketing consent. You can withdraw a marketing choice without affecting your booking.
You can delete your Selfe sign-in account. We retire its Selfe booking email address, remove your sign-in, account-held mail, conversations, notifications and account-only saved plans, and clear data held on your device. An operator removes copies of your messages in Selfe's audit records within 30 days of a valid deletion request, unless a specific booking dispute or legal duty requires us to keep them. We explain any information we retain and why. Deleting the account does not cancel a booking or payment obligation, remove the Provider's booking-system record, or remove minimum booking and payment evidence that still has to be kept. Contact support@selfe.ai to request review or erasure of remaining information.

The Provider determines how it uses information to supply your service. KTA determines its own Visit Keswick channel and membership purposes. Selfe is Yond Group Ltd (ICO registration ZB503706); it determines its account, security, payment-operation and legal-compliance purposes, and may also process a specific booking task under another party's documented instructions. The linked booking privacy notice explains Selfe's uses, providers, retention and your rights. Each party may retain records required for bookings, disputes or law after an account closes. You can direct a data request about your Selfe account or booking record to support@selfe.ai; requests about a Provider's service or KTA's membership records should go to the contacts in their privacy notices. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Checkout acceptance record
Before confirmation, show the Provider, service, full price and payment timing, the exact cancellation terms, this document and the linked privacy notice. Record the price and terms version, accepted text or immutable reference, acceptance time, authenticated guest and booking outcome. Optional marketing choices for Selfe, the Provider and KTA must each be separate, unticked and recorded against the named sender.
